$\"johnnycecottojr_094600\"$ <\/a>Un emocionante triunfo se llev\u00f3 el piloto venezolano Johnny Amadeus Cecotto en la octava v\u00e1lida de GP2 Series que se disput\u00f3 el domingo en el circuito Red Bull Ring de Austria, prueba que domin\u00f3 de principio a fin y que compens\u00f3 los problemas mec\u00e1nicos que lo afectaron en la carrera del s\u00e1bado que le impidieron luchar por la victoria.<\/p>\n

Desde el tercer lugar en la formaci\u00f3n se largada, Johnny Cecotto Jr efectu\u00f3 una salida perfecta para proyectarse al primer puesto al encarar la curva inicial y una vez asumida la vanguardia, se mantuvo al frente del pelot\u00f3n de veintis\u00e9is competidores a lo largo de las 28 vueltas pautadas, desde donde primero control\u00f3 las embestidas del estadounidense Alexander Rossi, luego del italiano Raffaele Marciello y en los minutos finales del monegasco Stefano Coletti, a quien aventaj\u00f3 por 7 d\u00e9cimas, podio que complet\u00f3 Marciello, ambos integrantes del equipo espa\u00f1ol Racing Engineering.<\/p>\n

Luego de conquistar la pole position en la clasificaci\u00f3n del viernes, Cecotto no pudo capitalizar la posici\u00f3n de privilegio en la jornada sabatina al presentarse un contratiempo en el propulsor de su m\u00e1quina, motivo por el que debi\u00f3 conformarse con arribar en la sexta plaza. Sin embargo, los t\u00e9cnicos de Trident Racing resolvieron el problema de naturaleza el\u00e9ctrica y en la carrera corta o sprint, Johnny Amadeus consigui\u00f3 que el Gloria al Bravo Pueblo se escuchara por segunda ocasi\u00f3n en la temporada.<\/p>\n

\u201cHa sido una fant\u00e1stica victoria que compensa los problemas que confrontamos el s\u00e1bado y que nos alejaron del podio – celebr\u00f3 Johnny Amadeus Cecotto – Los ingenieros de Trident Racing hicieron un gran trabajo, corrigieron el fallo provocado por una buj\u00eda que hac\u00eda que el motor trabajase a veces en 7 cilindros, falla que pens\u00e9 iba a provocar una rotura como lo advert\u00ed cuando dimos la vuelta de reconocimiento. Tuve una largada perfecta, desde la segunda fila pude pasar al frente, pero no fue sencillo, porque primero tuve que soportar la presi\u00f3n de Rossi, luego de Marciello y al final control\u00e9 lo ataques de Coletti. Este triunfo nos permite seguir en la lucha por el t\u00edtulo, es una emoci\u00f3n muy grande escuchar nuevamente el Himno Nacional en lo m\u00e1s alto del podio y debo agradecer al equipo Trident al darme un gran auto y brindarme su apoyo\u201d.<\/p>\n

Johnny Cecotto Jr complet\u00f3 la distancia con un tiempo de 36 minutos, 14 segundos y 395 mil\u00e9simas a un promedio de 200.3 kil\u00f3metros por hora, Stefano Coletti le sigui\u00f3 a 742 mil\u00e9simas, mientras Raffaele Marciello se ubic\u00f3 a 6.8 segundos. La mejor vuelta obtenida por Cecotto fue de 1\u201916\u201d974, en tanto los dos puntos adicionales por el r\u00e9cord en carrera se lo llev\u00f3 Coletti al fijar 1\u201916\u201d629.<\/p>\n

El nuevo suceso de Cecotto le permite recortar parte de la diferencia que le separa del primer lugar en la clasificaci\u00f3n general al arribar a 76 puntos, manteni\u00e9ndose en el tercer lugar, en tanto el brit\u00e1nico Jolyon Palmer sigue al frente con 117, seguido del brasile\u00f1o Felipe Nasr en el segundo con 84.<\/p>\n

Para Johnny Cecotto se trat\u00f3 de su segunda victoria de la presente temporada en la antesala de la F\u00f3rmula 1 junto a la formaci\u00f3n italiana Trident Racing y es la primera ocasi\u00f3n que vence en la carrera corta del domingo en la que no es obligatoria la detenci\u00f3n para cambiar cauchos, luego de imponerse en las pruebas largas de Montecarlo y Hockenheim del a\u00f1o 2012 y Barcelona 2014.
\nLa quinta fecha de GP2 Series se disputar\u00e1 el 5 y 6 de julio en Silverstone, Inglaterra.<\/p>\n

GP2 Series: Johnny another win this season, and what a win this was! How was it from the car?
\nJohnny Cecotto: First of all, it\u2019s fantastic to win again. We scored some good points. We had a fantastic pace since the beginning with the pole on Friday. We were very unlucky yesterday because we had a spark plug issue so the engine was running between 7 and 8 cylinder. That cost us the podium for sure. But we had a good starting position today: from third, we had a mega start, leading into the first corner which was very important. And then started a very long and very hard race. I think it was one of the most difficult GP2 sprint race to win because with this track where the tyre degradation is so low, where you have long straights were overtaking is quite easy. You could stay in the slipstream for a long time. People were catching me and not only they were catching, but it was always a new guy. First Rossi pushed hard at the beginning and I had to as well. Then, it was Marciello in the middle part of the race and I had to push to keep him behind. Then he finished his tyres. And then, when I thought I could relax a bit, my engineer told me that Coletti was catching us almost a second a lap, I could not believe that I had to push again\u2026 Stefano came quite close and 3 or 4 laps to the end, it was quite hard. In the last two laps I saw that he was also at the end of his tyres. So, I could control the last two laps, but it was a very, very long race inside of the car (Laughs).<\/p>\n

GP2 Series: We heard how overjoyed you were at the chequered flag over the radio\u2026
\nJohnny: Yeah, it was a fantastic race. The pace was so good overall this weekend. The engineers and mechanics did such a good job. We were a bit unlucky with race 1, but at least we could get this win today and good points, and we are consistently in good points for the championship. I think we caught some good points on Jolyon and we stayed close to Nasr. It\u2019s looking good. We have to keep up the good work.<\/p>\n

GP2 Series: We\u2019re going to Silverstone in two weeks. What will be your goal?
\nJohnny: I love Silverstone. It\u2019s quite a similar layout of this track because it also has quite a lot of quick corners. So, I think we will have a good car. We have ten days of very hard work to get prepared and then we just have to try and do the best we can again. I hope to be in the top 3 again from the start of the weekend.<\/p>\n
